Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT) stressed the importance of adhering to the laws and regulations governing the tourism sector, particularly those related to the organisation and operation of adventure tourism activities during the Khareef Dhofar season.

The ministry said that all adventure tourism activities must comply with the provisions of the Executive Regulations of the Tourism Law, which regulate the licensing and operation of various tourism activities.

It confirmed that organising or operating any adventure tourism activity is prohibited unless the required licences and official approvals are obtained from the ministry, as part of efforts to enhance quality and safety standards and ensure the delivery of secure and sustainable tourism experiences for visitors.

The ministry further warned that practising such activities without obtaining the necessary permits constitutes a violation and may expose those responsible to legal accountability in accordance with the applicable regulations.

The reminder comes as Dhofar witnesses increased visitor turnout during the annual Khareef season, which attracts tourists seeking nature-based and adventure experiences across the governorate.
